What we collect and why

When you contact us

If you email us or use a contact form, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to handle bookings, licensing or other requests. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address (and your name, if you give it) to send you news about our artists and releases. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

Website statistics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are read most. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given through our cookie banner.

Marketing

With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show our ads to people who have visited this site. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. is jointly responsible with us for collecting this data.

Security and technical data

Our hosting provider and security tools process technical data such as IP addresses and server logs to keep the site running and protect it from attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Cookies

Statistics and marketing cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website, under data-processing agreements:

  • Bluehost (Newfold Digital): website hosting
  • Automattic: Jetpack (security and statistics) and MailPoet (newsletter)
  • Google Ireland Ltd.: Google Analytics
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.: Meta Pixel

Some of these providers may transfer data to the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and correspondence: as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and no longer than five years, unless the law requires us to keep it longer (for example for invoicing).
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Statistics and marketing data: according to the cookie lifetimes listed in the Cookie Policy.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. To use any of these rights, email data@scl-agency.com. We reply within one month.

You can also complain to the Portuguese data-protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
